Jeremy King is executive vice president and chief technology officer for all U.S. Walmart stores and eCommerce. His organization consists of U.S. retail technology, @WalmartLabs, and Jet technology – including a global presence in infrastructure, cloud, and data platforms. Their charter is to create a seamless shopping experience so customers can save money and live better – anytime and anywhere – in retail stores, online, and through their mobile devices.
Jeremy has been on the forefront of cloud computing and brings over 20 years of experience building highly available and scalable technology platforms to support global commerce operations. He is an expert on engineering methodology and productivity, developing software as a service (SaaS) technology platforms, and presentation layer frameworks.
Before joining Walmart, Jeremy spent three years at LiveOps as executive vice president of technology. At LiveOps, he guided Fortune 500 companies to migrate their services to the cloud, embrace crowdsourcing in the enterprise, and adopt highly available and secure SaaS platforms.
Prior to that, Jeremy was vice president of engineering and software development at eBay. During his tenure, he led the team that selected and implemented the next-generation application platform “V3,” ran engineering teams for trading and fraud systems, launched eBay in seven new countries, opened development centers in China and India, and was a key member of the PayPal integration team. He also spent time as the founding engineering leader for Petopia.com and ran web technologies for Bay Networks.
Jeremy has a bachelor’s degree in information technology from San Jose State University. He is an advisory board member for the CTO Forum, an organization that brings together senior leaders across the technology industry to discuss and collaborate on key issues facing the industry and accelerate innovation across organizations.
