In partnership with Epicenter, the workshop will walkthrough landing a federal grant opportunity
NASHVILLE – November 8, 2021 – Launch Tennessee, the statewide organization empowering Tennessee’s entrepreneur ecosystem by providing capital and supportive resources is hosting a Small Business Innovation Research workshop on November 17. This workshop will be held in partnership with Epicenter Memphis as part of their outreach efforts to increase the number of federal innovation awards made to the Memphis area. Attendees will get an in-depth walkthrough of the federal SBIR/STTR grant funding opportunities while learning more about state resources available to assist Memphis-based businesses in bringing their innovative ideas to market.
In 2021, LaunchTN matched $700,000 of the $3,00,000 in SBIR awards made to Memphis based startups, totaling 60% overall for the state since program inception. This event is poised to help increase federal dollars and awards significantly in Memphis. “Memphis is a world class city with significant innovation assets, that is uniquely equipped and has an incredible opportunity to think about many of the problems the world faces in new ways, particularly in the development of life sciences, logistics and transportation, and smart city or civic solutions”, shares Charles Layne, Innovation Manager at LaunchTN and a University of Memphis alum.
