Innovation Week: Highlights From The Inaugural Event

Last week, LaunchTN hosted the first Innovation Week event in downtown Nashville, showcasing Tennessee entrepreneurship. Portions of the event were held at The Westin Nashville, and the main day of programming was held at Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum, directly across from the Tennessee State Capitol. With over 700 registered attendees, we were thrilled to host this in-person gathering of Tennessee’s entrepreneurial ecosystem as our first major event in over two years.

Throughout the week, we featured an exposition of Tennessee startups, fireside chats with partners and industry experts, one-on-one investor meetings, startup pitches, intimate roundtable sessions, and legislative meetings. Over 20 founders from across the state shared their technologies, and we brought together all 12 of our entrepreneur centers and mentor network partners. Attendees walked away with valuable connections made, and LaunchTN is more confident than ever in our goal to make Tennessee the most startup-friendly state because of these inspiring entrepreneurs.

Representing LaunchTN’s Network Partners, we heard compelling discussions about entrepreneurship in every corner of Tennessee from: Lindsey Cox (CO.LAB), Jeff Brown (The Biz Foundry), Jim Biggs (Knoxville Entrepreneur Center, AgLaunch), Lilly Tench (AgLaunch), Heath Guinn (Sync.Space), Jessica Taveau (Epicenter), Ben Ferguson (theCO), Brynn Plummer (Nashville Entrepreneur Center, Twende), Jane Allen (Nashville Entrepreneur Center), Sumeet Chahal (Bunker Labs), John Bruck (TAEBC), Steven King (BioTN),  and Gary Rawlings (TennSMART).

Our #BuildTN Conversation panel featured: Kayla Graff (Sweet Bio), Dr. Justin Baba (Yaya Scientific), Julia Polk (Decode Health), and Don Derosa (Eonix). Attendees also experienced hands-on showcases from the founders of Hero Wear, Endeavor Composites, Couture Technologies, Variable, Rootine, and Connect Music.

LaunchTN would like to thank our sponsors Pinnacle, The University of Tennessee Research Foundation, and Vanderbilt University for their tremendous support of the event.
