Startup Seminar: Capital Access Policy
November 18, 2020 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
FreeAbout this Event
Limited access to capital is one of the biggest challenges that entrepreneurs—particularly underrepresented founders—face when launching a startup. As the coronavirus pandemic continues, how can the startup community engage Congress to support policies that promote greater capital access?
Join Engine for a webinar on November 18th at 4 p.m. ET to discuss access to capital policy and how startups can get involved to drive solutions to capital access barriers. With an expert panel, we will explore some of the challenges that startups face when accessing capital, the unique roadblocks faced by underrepresented founders, and how COVID-19 has impacted the startup community. We will also discuss some of the steps that startups, founders, and entrepreneurial support organizations can take to engage policymakers and drive solutions to these problems.
The panel will be moderated by Engine’s Policy Analyst Jennifer Weinhart and will include:
– Imani Augustus, Legislative Director, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.)
– Melissa Bradley, Managing Director, 1863 Ventures
– Brittany Sickler, Senior Innovation Policy Advisor, U.S. Small Business Administration
The event will begin at 4 p.m. on Zoom. You will receive an email the week of the event with the Zoom link and joining information.
