The Financial Statement 101 workshop is to share with small business owners the importance of having a Profit & Loss Statement and Balance Sheet to understand the financial standing of the business. During the workshop, small business owners will learn how to read financial statements to determine where their money is going, where it is coming from, and how much they’ve got to work with.
This workshop is in partnership with Pathway Lending, and the workshop will be conducted by Carla Loveless and Jarlecia Jones.
About the hosts:
Carla Loveless joined Pathway Lending almost three years ago. In previous positions, she served as the Audit Manager at a large national insurance company & as the controller for an insurance consulting firm. Most recently, she worked with small businesses as a public accountant. At Pathway, Carla assists small business owners with financial management issues such as profitability, cash flow, financial statements, accounting systems, & marketing.
Carla is a CPA. She has a degree in Accounting & an MBA in International Business and Entrepreneurship from the University of Memphis.
Jarlecia Jones is the new Vice President of Lending at Pathway Lending. As a native Memphian, Jarlecia earned dual bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration from Freed -Hardeman University. She credits her alma mater with her passion and heart for service.
Upon graduation, she moved to Nashville to pursue a career as a tax accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers and later worked as a staff accountant with Guy Brown Office Products in Franklin, Tennessee. Jarlecia joined Pathway Lending as a Business Advisor in 2019.
Pathway Lending is a nonprofit on a mission to provide lending solutions and education to small businesses and entrepreneurs across Tennessee.
