NASHVILLE, TN – November 22, 2022 – Launch Tennessee (LaunchTN) recently made two new hires and moved another key team member to a new position. “These hires represent growth for LaunchTN and will allow us to better serve our founders,” CEO Lindsey Cox said. In September, Cox brought on Emily Masters as Development Director.
Ashley Currie is moving from communications to Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement Director. And Chloé Morrison just joined LaunchTN as Communications Director.
Masters, a life-long Tennessee resident and an entrepreneur, has more than 20 years of experience in both the nonprofit and public sectors.
From her start as a resolution writer for the Tennessee General Assembly to eight years, including a program director role, with Humanities Tennessee, Masters brings a wealth of knowledge to the team. She has a proven track record in fundraising for nonprofits. For example, she raised the local matching funds for Metro Arts when Nashville hosted the Americans for the Arts Convention, functioned as Development Consultant for NashvilleHealth from the point of its founding through the departure of the inaugural CEO, and most recently wrapped up nearly three years with The Porch Writers’ Collective, where she more than tripled the organization’s annual grant funding.
As LaunchTN Development Director, she is working to solidify key partnerships and pursue new sources for organizational funding. At the heart of all Master’s work is the goal of making Tennessee the most friendly startup state in the country.
Currie has moved from her role in communications to Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement Director.
In her new position, Currie will continue to focus on amplifying LaunchTN through marketing and event strategies. That includes leading the organization’s flagship annual event, 3686 Entrepreneur Festival, for which she will work closely with the organization’s stakeholders to enhance meaningful engagement, mission alignment, and continue to innovate LaunchTN’s benefits to its supporters.
Currie is an entrepreneur and creative, bringing years of experience within corporate marketing, advertising and managing her own marketing consultancy along with being the founder of Nashville’s only multicultural lifestyle magazine, Urbaanite.com.
Morrison joins LaunchTN after spending almost two years as Director of Communications at The Company Lab in Chattanooga.
She will continue to reside in The Scenic City while focusing on telling founder stories and wins for LaunchTN.
Morrison brings 15 years of journalism and communications experience to the team. She’s worked for the Chattanooga Times Free Press; The Daily Times in Maryville, TN; Nooga.com and NOOGAtoday. She spent 7 years covering startups and the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Chattanooga.
