Nashville Entrepreneur Week is May 15-18, and you should definitely check it out! The event offers a week of education, workshops, collaboration and connection for current and future founders, including Catfish Tank, a $10k pitch competition that’s Nashville’s twist on Shark Tank.
Lindsey Cox and I are a part of an incredible volunteer group of entrepreneurs, community members and investors who are extremely passionate about the Nashville startup community and want to see it continue to grow and thrive. I’ve truly experienced the power of this community first hand over the last few months helping organize NEW and a bottom up, grassroots effort is extremely critical for the growth of an ecosystem.
We’re proud to be able to put this together for zero cost to attendees because charging admission for an event like this can be one more barrier to entry for scrappy young founders hustling to build their companies. This couldn’t have been done without donation of space, sponsors and an agenda that is 100% driven by the community. Nashville has embraced a “give-first” mentality and people are stepping up in a big way!
Entrepreneurship is the ultimate social mobility enabler. Nashville as a community has fully embraced that with NEW by ensuring that everyone can attend this event and benefit in the knowledge sharing.
