Hypepotamus, the leading startup- and technology-focused news publication in the Southeast, started as a community resource. Born in the basement of a historic building in the heart of Midtown Atlanta, next to top university Georgia Tech, Hypepotamus was created to fill the gap in coverage for entrepreneurs hustling in the startup space within Atlanta and beyond. Not quite enterprise, not quite a small business — the grueling demands of startup life differ from a regular business model — and we’re here to provide a megaphone for your growing startup.
With a renewed focus on expanding beyond Georgia’s borders, Hype is expanding its coverage to nearby Southern states, including Tennessee. Our team attended the 36|86 conference this past June and shared great startup stories on our publication, including Spoken App, Evamore, and Homey. We were excited to learn of Randi Zuckerberg’s tech-fueled food pop-up that launched in Chattanooga. With a correspondent in Chattanooga, we’re keeping our ear to the ground at Gig City and beyond.
Since 2013, Hypepotamus has covered the evolving, growing tech scene of the South, including tracking enterprises moving or expanding into the Southeast, spotlighting startups going from a small idea to late-stage thriving companies, leaders within the community spearheading innovation, providing resources for entrepreneurs to connect with others and helping them find opportunities within incubators and accelerators to grow. We’ve gathered resources from influential tech leaders on accounting, investing, taxes, acquisition, and more for when you don’t know where to turn. Our newsletter lands in the inboxes of some of the area’s (and beyond!) leading investors looking for the next big thing as well as potential customers and users for your product. Sign up here to stay updated on the Southeast’s innovation.
At Hypepotamus, we’re looking to profile tech-enabled entrepreneurs/founders beyond the idea stage with a viable prototype and startup. Do you have a tech-enabled startup pitch that may fit our bill? Review our site to get familiar with our content and reach out with your pitch. We can’t wait to hear from you. Are you an experienced tech writer with an idea for a story? Our inboxes are open. Email us your strong elevator pitch at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll be sure to review it.
We’re all building the southern startup scene and we know we’re stronger together.
