Unify Water is (a new Premium Water CPG Startup), and one that will have a vast impact on the more than 1.2 billion people in the world without access to clean water. Maybe even more importantly, impacting the 12+ million people right here in the USA. Through ‘The H2O Initiative’, Unify Water will provide 1 gallon of clean water for every bottle sold (1 for 1- think Toms Shoes of Bottled Water). In 2016 we provided more than 1.1 million gallons of water to two communities in West Kenya, and 7 communities (and states) in the USA, to places like Flint, MI; Gatlinburg, TN; along with others in states like FL, VA, CA to name a few.
Through our current and ongoing partnership with The Water Project, and new partnerships we will be adding in 2017, we will be able to give hundreds of millions of gallons of water to folks in underdeveloped communities around the world. We see the real need for clean water in these 3rd & 4th world countries but also see the need here at home in the USA. Fortunately, we have a vast aquifer source that renews itself often. This allows us to provide water to communities in need within the U.S. by using our water from our source.
There are many benefits of Unify Water that make the company unique and differentiates our Brand from its other premium competitors. The first point of difference is the fact that we’re 100% American Made and Sourced. As the other premium brands currently taking market share are all imported into the USA via sea passage, which you can imagine has a huge carbon footprint on the planet. This means the people that love great tasting (single sourced) premium water have no 100% American Made & Single Sourced premium brand to attach themselves to…. until now!
The second point of difference is our AMAZING (and unmatched) U.S. water source. In the heart of the Appalachian Mountains in Tennessee, we have a completely all-natural (alkaline) aquifer spring water source. Our aquifer is the only one in America that is certified by the USDA to drink directly from the source. The pH level is anywhere between 7.3 – 7.6 at the source (and the bottle), which makes it completely naturally alkaline. Having a source with all-natural alkalinity is extremely important these days because you have many new (and old) water brands claiming to be premium that is now enhancing their waters (chemically) to raise the pH levels. At face value, the consumer sees a high pH and thinks that they’ll become hydrated much quicker, and that may be true, but it comes at a price that is more valuable than cash. This chemically enhanced pH process is one where the (unknown and many different sourced) waters are first taken through reverse osmosis and purified (taken the water down to acidic levels). Then it is taken through ionic metals which raise the pH levels. You can just imagine how bad this is for your body, but again at face value it has a high pH. Therefore, actual premium waters are the best choice to drink because they come from one source that is typically naturally alkaline.
The third point (and most important) difference from our other premium competitors is our 1 for 1 give back model. We are a certified B-Corp, and as mentioned above, we’re looking to provide water to the 1 billion + people around the globe without access to clean water. We think this is only doable through the buy-in of our consumer, so we feel that creating our 1 for 1 model through the Unify Water CPG platform is the most tangible way to go about achieving this lofty goal. Through our H2O Initiative Page within our website, you can find our ‘map of impact’ which allows you to see which communities we’ve impacted to date by scrolling over the highlighted areas. We know that most consumers love to be involved with companies that give back, and more importantly we know consumers would love to know where their purchase (in this case water) is having an impact. We’ve taken this a step (maybe 2 or 3 steps) further, as not only will consumers be able to view their impact, they will be able to dictate where they want their water to go. We have created a platform that will allow our customers to enter a unique number into our ‘map of impact’ page, and literally drag and drop (or click on) where exactly they want their water to impact (within the highlighted areas) in real time! Currently, we have 4 highlighted areas internationally that you can give your gallon(s) too OR you can give your gallon to any state in the U.S. as they’re all highlighted!
We launched the brand into stores at the beginning of Q3, 2016. We are currently in more than 2,500 stores in 9 states.
