Top Ten DC Area Startups Selected to Pitch in Arlington for 36|86’s Southern Series

Nashville, Tenn., April 2, 2015 – Launch Tennessee (LaunchTN) announces today the selection of ten DC area startups pitching at the 36|86 Southern Series Arlington event on April 7th.

Each Southern Series event provides an opportunity to celebrate the brightest regional startups and to identify the very best entrepreneurs located throughout the Southeast. Ten startups are selected to pitch at each stop on The Southern Series. Winners advance to LaunchTN’s inaugural 36|86 conference June 8-10 in Nashville for the opportunity to win cash prizes, including $36,000 to the winner while networking with fellow entrepreneurs, investors and media from across the country.  All Southern Series winners selected to attend 36|86 will receive a travel and lodging stipend.

The ten companies pitching in Arlington on April 7th at Disruption Corporation for the chance to be one of the featured startups at 36|86 in June are:

Airside Mobile: Arlington, VA: Airside is changing how travelers travel by using mobile technology and expert process design to eliminate lines during day-of-travel.

Babyscripts: Washington, DC: Babyscripts is the first mobile, clinical solution that enables obstetricians to remotely monitor low-risk pregnancies.

DivvyCloud: Arlington, VA: DivvyCloud is a software company focused on innovative technology to manage the complexity of multi-cloud deployments by enabling (1) auto-discovery of resources across leading public and private cloud technologies; (2) unified visibility and lifecycle management of instances and other cloud resources; as well as (3) programmatic automation for event-driven, self-healing cloud infrastructure.

DroneShield: Washington, DC: DroneShield detects small unmanned aerial vehicles (sUAV or ‘drones’) and accelerates the apprehension and prosecution of violators through real-time alerts and digital evidence collection.

EquityEats: Washington, DC: EquityEats is an equity-based crowdfunding platform for restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.

JRINK Juicery: Washington, DC: JRINK (“drr-ink”) is the leading cold-pressed juicery in the Washington DC metro area.

Nudge: Richmond, VA: Nudge has created a HIPAA compliant ecosystem (consisting of 2 complementary platforms, Nudge and Nudge Coach) designed to help professionals leverage the platforms people are already using, like Fitbit, to deliver more scalable care.

Quorum Analytics: Washington, DC: Quorum is an online legislative strategy platform that provides unique quantitative insights into the U.S. Congress.

Virgil Security: Manassas, VA: Virgil Security, Inc., guides software developers into the forthcoming world in which everything will be encrypted (and passwords will be eliminated).

VirtualU: Blacksburg, VA: VirtualU is currently pioneering the technology behind hyper-realistic digital avatar creation and the implementation possibilities across multiple industries.
