Tennessee Startups Seeing Success After Demo Day

We previously wrote about the demo days that took place across Tennessee a few weeks ago, and now we’re happy to report the progress many graduates have made since then.

Nashville: Three graduates of Jumpstart Foundry have already attracted investor interest. Spotwise secured an investment from Premier Parking after a pilot program, Octovis has been working on a funding deal, and Healthcare MarketMaker closed a $65,000 investment.

Knoxville: Four graduates of the inaugural MediaWorks program – Audiohand, Vuture, Closeup.fm and Street Jelly – are looking at investment deals. Another graduate, ParOne, received a $100,000 investment already.

Memphis: From Start Co.’s Seed Hatchery program, Phase has released a minimum viable product app in the Google Play story. Play-tag and eDivv from the Upstart program have made progress in recruiting members/subscribers. Barter Sugar launched a private beta, and Cabsolutely has a commitment from Yellow Cab and Checker Cab to provide their app to Memphis-based cab drivers. From the Sparkgap program, Graph Story closed an angel round of $250,000. The Sky High program’s Care2Manage has raised $30,000.

Chattanooga: Two GIGTANK graduates – Feetz and Seambot – are moving to Chattanooga from San Francisco and Alabama, respectively, to take advantage of the 3D printing industry expertise in the Gig City.

Tullahoma/Spring Hill: A graduate of autoXLR8R – CyberLoop – plans to continue its education at the Biz Foundry’s fall program in Cookeville.
