TENNESSEE INNOVATION IN THE NEWS
Franklin Startup at Heart of Drone Industry’s Cutting Edge
The Tennessean

The camera mounted beneath the small, unmanned aerial vehicle focused on Spencer Valdez, and the copter turned casually and flew above the treeline before returning and hovering in front of him. Valdez’s fingers were on the controls, but he says one day they might not be. The co-founder of Franklin-based Snaproll Media believes unmanned aerial vehicles, more commonly known as drones, will change the world in the next 10 years, taking on several jobs once completed by humans in person.

What to Expect at MediaWorks Demo Day
Southern Alpha
Though the second annual MediaWorks Demo Day won’t be happening for another week on Aug. 11 in Knoxville, the organizers at Knoxville Entrepreneur Center have already had to release another round of tickets after they sold out of them once.  So, I thought it may be appropriate to give a little time for those who are thinking about going to this demo day a reminder to get a ticket before they completely run out. Before we talk about the upcoming demo day, a little review of the origins of the MediaWorks program may provide a greater level of appreciation for this demo day.
