The TENN FAQ’s

What is The TENN program all about?

In its fourth year, this one-of-a-kind program is designed to propel some of the most promising emerging companies in Tennessee to the next level through highly-focused mentorship, access to functional expertise, and investor introductions across the state, region and country.

What are some of The TENN program components?

Learning Days – LaunchTN brings in experts with topical knowledge (tech, marketing/sales, finance, etc.) to dive in on an individual level with each team, creating a unique and valuable learning experience. These Learning Days will also provide deeper engagement opportunities with key staff members of LaunchTN.

Master Mentors – Teams will have the opportunity to be paired with one or two master mentors.  These mentors have domain and/or functional expertise specific to the individual teams’ needs. Mentors will be matched with teams after the first month of the program based on articulated needs, geographical proximity and cultural fit.

LaunchTN Office Hours – Teams will have 1:1 access to key LaunchTN staff on a weekly basis, leveraging each director’s specific expertise.

Tennessee Roadshow – The Tennessee Roadshow is a statewide tour to meet with senior corporate executives and investors, as well as successful entrepreneurs and technologists.  Teams get access to feedback and networks that can significantly accelerate their business growth.

California and New York Travel – LaunchTN schedules trips to the Bay Area and New York for targeted meetings with potential investors, customers and strategic partners.  These trips will be toward the end of the TENN program and will be by invitation only. Each team will need to satisfy agreed-upon milestones in order to remain in the program and be invited on each trip.  These include adherence to the Rockefeller Habits, LaunchTN staff calls, mentor calls/meetings, key metric growth, etc.  Milestones  will be covered in greater detail during the November 15-16 kick-off with key metrics developed and updated each week and in more detail during the Learning Days.

Alumni Support – TENN graduates are eligible for on-going support, leveraging the LaunchTN network and expertise to meet the business development, fundraising and human capital needs of growing companies.

As it relates to the in-state and out-of-state travel outlined in the timeline above, the expectation is that each team has the appropriate member present and engaged at 100% of the events and activities.

What does The TENN program cost for startups?

The TENN teams will not be required to pay for expenses during required travel for the program. LaunchTN will pay for transportation, food, lodging and other travel-related expenses during the various trips, either directly or through a stipend given to the teams.
